Famous for its Citadel Museum, which has on display numerous cultural relics and treasures, and an octagonal nine-stage stone pagoda. The huge fir tree forest road is so beautiful that it has been the setting of many dramas and movies. There is Woljeongsa museum and there are many Korean national treasure and many Buddhist arts.

Yongpyong Resort
Yongpyong ski resort offers skiing in winter, and golf in the summer months. It is the largest ski and snowboard resort in Korea. The ski season runs from November to early April. It has 31 slopes, 15 different lift facilities, including one gondola at a length of 3.7 km (2.3 mi), and Korea's largest ski house (Dragon Plaza).

Naksansa
This temple is in Naksan where the Buddhist Goddess is said to reside. Ui-sang Daesa built the temple in 676 during the unified Silla era. After studying in Tang Dynasty China, Ui-sang encountered the Buddhist Goddess in prayer, and she pointed out where Mt. Naksan should be built.
Someday we will visit Pyeongchang or begin to dream about going there! However, for now its not on our radar.

Pyeongchang
Pyeongchang (평창) is a city and a county in Gangwon. The city hosted the 2018 Winter Olympic and Winter Paralympic Games. Pyeongchang County's slogan, "Happy700 Pyeongchang", refers to the city's average elevation, approximately 700 m, which is said to make people live in best condition. Pyeongchang has three mottos related to this slogan. These are 'Best place for health, rest, leports - Happy700 Pyeongchang', 'The city of nature, health, longevity - Happy700 Pyeongchang', 'Optimal environment for human's life - Happy700 Pyeongchang'.
The altitude of Pyeongchang is wide-ranging, with 84% of its territory comprising mountains with average elevations of 750m (2,460ft).
Pyeongchang region was ruled by the Goguryeo Dynasty during the Three Kingdoms period, and it was called Uk-o-hyeon (욱오현). After the Silla dynasty conquered the Goguryeo Dynasty and Baekje Dynasty, it was renamed Baek-o-hyeon (백오현).
