Chernihiv
Chernihiv, located in the north of Central Ukraine, is one of the most ancient and most interesting cities of Ukraine known in the world primarily for its sacred Christian temples created over 1000-year history of the city and being invaluable treasure of Ukrainian people.
Chernihiv's architectural monuments chronicle two most flourishing periods in the city's history - those of Kievan Rus' (11th and 12th centuries) and of the Cossack Hetmanate (late 17th and early 18th centuries.)
Chernihiv stands on the Desna River 150 km to the north-north-east of Kiev .
