Casablanca

Casablanca may be the cosmopolitan, industrial and economic heart of Morocco, and its largest city, but it is one of the less endearing of the country's sights. With a small, unassuming medina and a traffic-congested ville nouvelle, travellers arriving via Casablanca may be tempted to find the first train out to nearby Rabat. The awe-inspiring Hassan II Mosque and happening nightlife and architecture, however, are worth at least a day of your Moroccan itinerary.

There are many things to do and to see in Casablanca Like the Hassan II Mosque which is the second largest mosque in Africa and the seventh largest in the world with the second tallest minaret at 210 metres (689 ft). There is an amusement park with a zoo known as "Parc Sindibad" and many shopping centers like Morocco Mall which is the second largest mall in Africa with 200 000m² of floor space, Anfa Place, Tachfine Center, Marina shopping center and many others, Casablanca Has also a Marina, and many gardens such as Arab League Park.

Casablanca is located on the Chaouia Plains which has historically been the breadbasket of Morocco. Apart from the Atlantic coast, the Bouskoura forest is the only natural attraction in the city. The forest was planted in the 20th century and consists mostly of eucalyptus, palm, and pine trees. It is located halfway to the city's international airport.
