Wolmido

Wolmido was a major harbor in Incheon until Yeonan Budu was developed. However, visitors can still do many things in Wolmido. There is a small park, surrounded by a nature walk road. There are also many seafood restaurants and cafes with a great ocean view. What is more, a small harbor that can bring visitors to several islands is still operating. The Chinatown is just a few minutes away, so tourists usually take two sightseeing courses with Wolmido. The most famous place is an amusement park popular with locals. Wolmido Amusement Park is not a state-of-the-art facility, but disco and pirate ships are famous. It is said that the pirate ship is the scariest of Wolmido because of its loose seat belt. However, there are no known safety problems with the rides.

Bridge of No Return

After the Korean war, some prisoners of war were given the choice to cross over the bridge or to stay on the side of their captors, hence the name. On 18 Aug 1976, a US attempt to cut down a poplar tree obstructing visibility of the bridge led to a battle with North Korean forces that left Capt. Arthur Bonifas and Lt. Mark Barrett dead in what was later known as the "Axe Murder Incident". The bridge is now closed and a new bridge to the north is used instead. Usually visited from the South only.

Ansan

South Korea
Someday we will visit Ansan or begin to dream about going there! However, for now its not on our radar. Let us know in the comments if you think that should change!

Ansan

Ansan (안산) is a city in Gyeonggi, South Korea, on the coast of the Yellow Sea. Portions of various Yellow Sea islands lie within its jurisdiction. The largest and best-known of these is Daebu Island. At the south of the city are Daebudo and Pungdo. Kwonsun, Gunpo, and Anyang are in the east of Ansan. The Yellow Sea to the west, Hwaseong to the south, and Siheung to the north are other boundaries.

Ansan is located in the southwest of Gyeonggi Province and is situated on the coast of the Yellow Sea (locally called West Sea), at 37°19′N 126°50′E / 37.317°N 126.833°E / 37.317; 126.833. Portions of various Yellow Sea islands lie within its jurisdiction. The largest and best-known of these is Daebu Island.

Because Ansan is a planned city built behind the Ansan Smart Hub following the government's industrial planning, the proportion of agriculture in the Ansan economy is very low. Meanwhile, as the government intensively drove a manufacturing industry plan in the Ansan area before Ansan was built, many people work in the manufacturing industry. There are two national industrial complexes, Banwol and Sihwa, as well as the local Banwol plating industrial complex.
