From Wikipedia: Malaysia is a country in Southeast Asia, on the Malay peninsula, as well as on northern Borneo. The country is one of Asia's new tiger economies, having seen great economic and human development during the last decades. While the capital Kuala Lumpur is a cosmopolitan city, deep jungles cover some of the land.

Note to self

Head to the riverfront for a good sunset and the call for prayer at the Masjid India Kuching. Some places are just not right for you. This was one of them, however my Dad enjoyed it. I recommend taking the fast boat to the remote Thai island of Ko Lipe instead.Take a walk down Jonker street and try the food. We had some incredible Tandorri a little out of town at the Pak Putra Restaurant.

How to drive a Rickshaw in Penang

I visited Penang in Chinese New Year (CNY). Chinese New Year is the festival that gathers relatives together, dead and alive. A family portrait is usually a typical ritual of such events. In the temples the longest incense sticks I've ever seen in my life burned. In the temples everything that could be burnt was

Kuching is a real life Pokemon adventure

Kuching has possibly the most cat statues per square mile of any place on Earth. In fact, a trip to Kuching could easily be spent trying to catch them all as if they were Pokemon and you were trying to fill your Pokedex. Kuching means cat in Malay. As a result the city has the

Orangutan

[from en.wikipedia.org]: Orangutans are great apes native to the rainforests of Indonesia and Malaysia. They are now found only in parts of Borneo and Sumatra, but during the Pleistocene they ranged throughout Southeast Asia and South China. Classified in the genus Pongo, orangutans were originally considered to be one species. In 1996, they were divided into two species: the Bornean orangutan and the Sumatran orangutan ; a third species, the Tapanuli orangutan, was identified definitively in 2017. The orangutans are the only surviving members of the subfamily Ponginae, which diverged genetically from the other hominids between 19.3 and 15.7 million years ago.

Sipadan

[from en.wikipedia.org]: Sipadan is the only oceanic island in Malaysia, rising 600 metres (2,000 ft) from the seabed. It is located in the Celebes Sea off the east coast of Sabah, Malaysia. It was formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct volcanic cone that took thousands of years to develop. Sipadan is located at the heart of the Indo-Pacific basin, the centre of one of the richest marine habitats in the world. More than 400 species of fish and hundreds of coral species have been classified in this ecosystem. Sipadan Island was at the top of Rodale's Scuba Diving Magazine Gold List for 'The Top Dive Destination in the World'. In fact it shared its top spot with 2 other destinations known for the diversity of their marine life — the Galápagos Islands of Ecuador and Truk in Micronesia. Furthermore, one of the dive operators; Scuba Junkie was voted by the public the "Best Dive Resort in the World 2020" at DiveMagazine's annual Dive Travel Awards.
